But in case you do, we can provide these services in the commercial manner under special contract. Also Elan Networks and people working there have been working on whois and related technologies and can provide number of services in the area. So here is a brief overview of commercial whois and related services we can provide: Custom Whois Engine Access and OutputThis can be of interest to those selling some product or service where users would need to make use of whois engine, that would result in high number of queries made to the whois server. Our engine already has some hidden authentication parameters so its possible to use that to setup special access to you or we can setup or more whois servers (hardware machines). The engine can also be customized per your requests to provide specific set of results (specific option set) and output your name (instead of ours) at the top. Whois Monitoring and Watch ServiceThese are services to watch and report to you any changes in whois made to either domain or ip block and are useful if you want to make sure nobody tries to illegally make changes and steal your domain or ip block (what a nightmare can it be getting it back afterwards!!!). The charges are $4/year per domain and $20/year per ip block (considering you pay > $2500/year for ip block this is pocket change) and discounts are available if you need to have more then one ip or domain monitored together. Monitoring is done once/day and in case of any changes you receive an email and a phone call from our staff. Historic research on ip block or domainSimilar to the evidence files we produced under hijacked section of the website we can do reports for historic use of particular ip block or domain. This can be of interest to private detectives, lawyers and others in similar profession. And this can a very big help when one company is considering buying another one and as part of that transition the company would be getting number of internet resources and you want to make sure all those resources really do belong to the company being bought. The rates for this research are very reasonable at around $500 per report (those who are involved in either legal work or company acquisitions will know this is really good deal) and in cases of civil litigation experts are also available to testify. RWHOIS server setup and maintenance for ISPsIn ARIN region (US and Canada) ISPs are required to provide to public information on their clients when the client has been assigned 8 ips or more. This is done by either doing SWIP (a special template emailed to ARIN for each client with specific requirements on what data must be included and how) or having ISP provide this information on its own server (requirements on what type of data should be included are a lot smaller then) through RWHOIS protocol.
